xMorg.org created by me, Michael Gorham, originally as a small pet project. Once I started showing it to people though, I really got into making it awesome.
I love working on this site and have gotten nothing but positive, constructive feedback. I'll continue to maintain and update this website on a regular basis, but something has got to change.
Having never run a website with this high a traffic load, the demands of it are quite new to me. I never realized how many hours could just disappear while I try to fix bugs, add features, or simply respond to emails. The development of this site has gone at breakneck speeds over the last week and has cut into my work and sleeping schedule in ways I was unprepared for. In order to continue working on the site and releasing things at such a fanatical pace, I need to recover the cost of the time I am investing in it.
That's why I am asking for donations. For my time invested in making this site, and for my continued fervent development of it. Or maybe you just like the software and want to throw $5 my way. Cool. But remember, I will not stop working on this site, even if not one single person gives me 2 cents. Donations will make it worth my time to cut out on other projects to work on this one.
UPDATE (1/15/2006):
That's right, I've added Google Adsense ads to the site. There aren't too many, and they are pretty much out of the way. In fact, if you have an ad blocker, I don't even care. I maintain that, as long as I can afford it, I will not charge anything for this website. So please keep in mind that Donations and Ads keep this site running.
Whether you choose to send some bucks or not, I run this site because I enjoy it, so don't expect it to go anywhere unless I simply can't pay for it. (And should that be the case, you'll all know well in advance. :)
